Goodwill Industries of Denver is opening its first retail location in Longmont Colorado and plans to bring approximately 30 new jobs to the community. The store is expected to open in the spring of 2012 and it will be located at 1750 North Main Street in Westview Plaza in Longmont.

On February 8, Project Runway All-Star and Denver fashion designer Mondo Guerra will join Goodwill Industries of Denver for an evening of fashion, food and fabulous finds at the second annual Good Exchange for Change Fashion Show & Clothing Swap. The event will be held from 5:30pm to 8:30pm at the Exdo Event Center in Denver.

A new community-minded boutique from an unexpected company is coming to Cherry Creek North. The boutique -- a first of its kind for Goodwill Industries of Denver -- will feature gently-used, high-end clothing, shoes and accessories at a fraction of their retail value. Opening in March of 2012, the store is situated in the heart of the Cherry Creek North shopping district at 303 University Blvd. in Denver. Déjà Blue will be unlike any other Goodwill store in the area.

During the last few days of the year, Goodwill Industries of Denver typically receives a generous outpouring of donations from donors looking to make last-minute tax-deductable donations. 2011 was no exception with Goodwill taking in 550,000 pounds of donations on the final day of 2011 and more than 1 million pounds of donations throughout the holiday weekend.

Saturday, Dec. 31, is expected to be the busiest donation day of the year for Goodwill, thanks to the organization’s Procrastinator’s Delight donation program, designed to give procrastinators one last chance to get year-end tax credits for donated goods.
