Goodwill to Open Two New Stores and a Career Center in 2012

Goodwill Industries of Denver has plans to open two new stores in Longmont and Stapleton Colorado in early 2012. The stores will create approximately 60 new jobs, while the Career Connection Center located within the Stapleton store will serve as a free career resource for anyone within the community seeking job skills or career support.

The Longmont store, expected to open in early spring of 2012, will be located at 1750 North Main Street in Westview Plaza at the northwest corner of Main and 17th St. Goodwill plans to convert the 27,275 square foot space, formerly an Albertsons, into both a retail store and a drive-up donation center.

In early summer of 2012 Goodwill will open its 26th store in the Stapleton neighborhood in Denver at 7797 East 36th Avenue. The 32,000 square foot location will house a retail store, donation drop-off area and Goodwill’s second Career Connection Center.

“Goodwill is creating new jobs, affordable goods and opportunities for job-seekers with the addition of these stores and our newest Career Connection Center,” says Goodwill Industries of Denver CEO Jesse Wolff. “The New Year will mean continued progress for our rapidly growing mission footprint -- meaning Goodwill will be able to help even more people right here in Colorado thanks to the donation support of the community.”

At all Goodwill stores shoppers can expect to find gently used clothing, accessories, household goods and more. Proceeds from the sale of donated goods fund community programs that help at-risk youth, struggling adults and individuals with disabilities.

The stores will be open from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
